TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Tupelo Public School District is hosting a series of summer camps throughout the month of June. On Tuesday participants had the opportunity to learn about science in an interactive way. It’s all a part of Lawndale’s “Camp Opportunity” and this week, students are blending science and physical education components together.

The students took to the archery range to see science in motion. Campers enjoyed a special guest today who introduced them to the principals of archery. Organizers hope students will learn a very important point about science that surrounds them.

“We just try to show the kids the correlation between the activities and games that we do here with science,” said Lawndale PE teacher, Bo Boatner. “And of course, we make the point that science applies to everything.”

“Science In Motion” will continue throughout this week.
