Video: Turkey Drive Gives Meals For Those In Need

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The Columbus Police Department and Columbus Fire and Rescue are helping the Concerned Citizens of Columbus with their annual Turkey Drive.

The drive provides meals for the elderly and disabled in the Columbus and Lowndes County area.

Coordinator Annie Barry, who started the drive 21 years ago out of her own kitchen, said the drive is a way for her to show the reason behind the season.

The drive’s goal is to get 250 turkeys.

You can drop off a turkey at the Columbus Police Department Monday through Thursday from 7 A.M. to 6 P.M. and also at the Park and Recreation office from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. Monday through Friday.

You can also stop a police officer and they will help you with a turkey donation.

This drive is the only drive in the area that will deliver meals to those in need. It will take place Thanksgiving morning at Stokes-Beard Elementary school.
