Video: Two Area Students Still Competing in National Spelling Bee

NATIONAL HARBOR, MD (WCBI) -Two local students competing in the Scripps National Spelling Bee are still in the race.

Winston Academy student Dev Jaiswal and Starkville Academy student Bates Bennette have both successfully completed the third round of competition.

The contest started Tuesday in National Harbor, Maryland with 285 spellers.

The remaining contestants will participate in semifinals tomorrow.

The championship finals will air Thursday night at 7pm on ESPN.
