VIDEO: Two Columbus Police Officers Quit

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The Columbus Police Department will soon be without two officers.

City councilmen accepted the resignation of Yolanda Young and Raymond Hackler.

Young was recently suspected 30 days and placed on six months probation after the officer involved shooting death of Ricky Ball.

She was one of three officers in a vehicle that attempted to pull over a car Ball was riding in and eventually jumped out of before he was shot.

Hackler has been with CPD for nearly ten years.

He has served as the public information officer, a detective and is currently a motorcycle officer.

Including Young and Hackler, the force currently has 52 officers.
