Video: Two Convicted in Lowndes County Native’s Death

Two men charged in the 2012 shooting death of a Purple Heart veteran from Lowndes County are acquitted of first degree murder, but found guilty on other charges.

Family members of Samson Edmond tell WCBI a jury in Martinsburg, West Virginia found Rashuan Boyd guilty of attempted first-degree murder. Christopher Wyche was convicted of voluntary manslaughter. Both men convicted on wanton endangerment and felony possession of a firearm charges.

Edmond was fatally shot at a sports bar after an argument with the defendants.

Edmond, who is a graduate of West Lowndes High School, was working in West Virginia.

The Purple Heart recipient was wounded by an IED while serving in Iraq in 2005 and 2006.
