Video: Two Hospitalized in Lowndes Co. Wreck

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Mississippi state troopers are investigating a wreck that sent two Alabama men to the hospital.

It happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Highway 12 in Lowndes County, near the Alabama state line.

Troopers say Charles Hill, of Vernon, was heading west in his Ford Escape, when he veered into the wrong lane, hitting a Dodge Ram head on.

Both Hill and the other driver – Alan Reed of Beaverton – were airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Their injuries are unknown at this time.

Part of Highway 12 was closed for nearly two hours, while first responders cleaned up the wreck.
