COLUMBUS and WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – At least two area law enforcement agencies hope to get tougher on drunk drivers. The Columbus Police Department and Clay County Sheriff’s Department both plan to apply for 10 thousand dollar state public safety grants to step up D-U-I enforcement. If awarded, the grants would pay overtime costs for officers and deputies to work extra patrols and roadblocks.
