Video: Union County Officials Sworn in

NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) -Elected officials in Union County took the oath of office during a ceremony at the courthouse.

Supervisors, the sheriff, his deputies, jailers, constables and other elected positions were sworn in.

Whether they have been in office for years, or are newcomers, elected officials say there is a lot to be proud of in Union County.

“Well, we’re looking at industrial development , very seriously, new jobs for people of Union County, looking to create those jobs for them where they don’t have to go out of the county to work.”

“Hopefully we will continue on same track we have been on, trying to serve the people best I can and do what I am supposed to do and in the best of my ability to do.”

Fourteen people took the oath of office in Union County.
