TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — The United Way of Northeast Mississippi is asking volunteers to hold off on removing debris this weekend in Tupelo. The non-profit says storms this weekend’s forecast could make cleanup dangerous. The time will also allow for more debris to be removed, making it easier to get to damaged homes.

Homeowners can still call the United Way and request volunteers for certain projects. You can still sign up to help at the Tupelo Convention and Visitors Bureau during regular business hours.
