WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI)  – West Point is considering a community storm shelter. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency awarded the city a five thousand dollar grant. Now, West Point will have to pay a little more than 12 hundred dollars in matching funds.
The shelter will be built near Sally Kate Winters Park and will be able to seat 15 people. There would also be additional standing room, in what would be West Point’s first shelter.
A construction date hasn’t been set.
