WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – The city of West Point is facing a 2 million dollar lawsuit. Rasundra Eley filed the civil suit in Federal Court alleging that West Point police officers used unnecessary force and a stun gun on her developmentally disabled daughter.

The incident occurred in October. Eley called for an ambulance to take her daughter to a behavioral health center. Two police officers also answered the call. One of the officers used a neck restraint on Eley’s daughter rendering her unconscious. When she came to, the officer used a stun gun on her, causing her to hit the pavement face first.

The lawsuit accuses the city of unduly battering a minor – false imprisonment – depriving the teen of her civil rights- and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

No criminal charges have been filed against the officers.
