WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – They marched, sang, and displayed signs in memory of Dr. King Monday morning in West Point.

Dozens met at the corner of East Half Mile Street and MLK Drive for a march to spread Dr. King’s message of unity, peace, and service.

The march ended at Central School for a program featuring guest speaker and West Point native, Senator Angela Turner.

“This is the time that we reflect on the “I Have A Dream” mission and speech that Dr. Martin Luther King provided for us so many years ago. And to compare then as it relates to now and what can we do going forward.”

The West Point MLK celebration and march are annual events.
