LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – After living through a devastating tornado, today’s disaster recovery drill means a little more to students at the Winston-Louisville Career Tech Center.
The teens went through the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training, with help from Louisville Firefighters. Students also learned how to relay weather information from WCBI Meteorologist Isaac Williams.

The training included rescuing injured people. The MSU Extension Center set up the event, and hopes this drill will help rescuers if another disaster hits the community.

“This program is to get our teens active in the search and rescue part, mostly for nay kind of natural disaster. Winston County learned a lot from our tornadoes in April, and we had lots of teens interested in being able to get out and help with this if it ever occurred in our area again.”
