Video: World War II Veteran Serves As Maben Grand Marshal

MABEN, Miss. (WCBI) — Oktibbeha County residents celebrated Christmas, and one military member who fought for our freedom to do so.

Wyman Bishop, who turned 90 back in September, was the Grand Marshal of Thursday night’s Christmas parade in downtown Maben.

The hometown hero served in World War II. Bishop enlisted in the Marines in 1943 where he served as a Sergeant for three years. He later joined the ROTC at Mississippi State University where he graduated a Second Lieutenant in the Army Reserve.

Floats and Santa also made for a festive night.
