Video: Yokohama Honored at EMCC Industry Appreciation Ceremony

MAYHEW, Miss. (WCBI) -One of the area’s newest industries received special recognition Wednesday. Yokohama received the Director’s Award for Industry of the Year at E-M-C-C’s annual Industry Appreciation Luncheon.

To date, the company has completed the first phase of its construction, moved in equipment, and begun hiring staff. And company officials are confident that operations should ramp up on time this October.
“So far, we have hired 180 employees. I think it’s going to take a little time to fill these positions, because we need to start up production to complete the capacity of the plant.”

Yokohama is expected to employ 500 people when it reaches full production capacity.
