STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) -It was a good turn for the last day of the 16th annual Magnolia Independent Film Festival at the Hollywood Premier Cinemas in Starkville.

The festival showed films from Mississippi and all over the world. Filmmakers of some of the works came out from Texas, Georgia, New York and Starkville to be a part of the event. Films range from three minutes to an hour and a half long. The work will be judged in three categories by the judges and one by the viewers.

“Ron Tibbett actually started this film festival, it’s the oldest film festival in Mississippi, when he moved to West Point Mississippi he did not have an outlet to show his films and so he created this festival to give people in this area a look at independent film,” said Director Laura Dixson.

Curvas won for best comedy, This is vanity took home best drama, Time 2 split was best in show, and the People’s Choice Award went to One night in March.
