ASHLAND, Miss. (WCBI) — A North Carolina based ministry is helping coordinate volunteer efforts in three counties hit hard by last week’s tornadoes and recent flooding.

Samaritan’s Purse has one of its mobile disaster relief units in Ashland.

The two story trailer is equipped with tools, equipment, tarps, and virtually anything needed to help those who have been affected.

The unit is set up at the Ashland Baptist Church and sends volunteers out daily to Tippah, Benton and Marshall Counties.

“It gives me an opportunity to give back, to reach out to those that are hurting, to let them know that, you know, God still loves them, we go out and we help in Jesus’ name, we want people to know that Jesus loves them, Jesus died for them and that we’re here to be His hands and feet,” said Jonathan Blevins, Samaritan’s Purse.

The ministry can use volunteers daily. If you would like to help out, call Ashland Baptist Church at 662 224 6473.
