WINONA, Miss. (WCBI) — A Winona man on the run since Oct. 18 is behind bars.

Maurice Simpson, 33, was one of three men wanted in connection with the theft of cash, jewelry and other items from a home on North Fairgrounds Street in Winona.

One man was caught the same day but Simpson and Ted Bundy managed to get away. Simpson was arrested Nov. 2 in Bowling Green, Ky. on identity theft and other charges but he gave police there a fake name.

It was only recently that Winona and Kentucky authorities made the connection. He faces court hearings in Kentucky before an extradition hearing to return him to Mississippi.

Bundy, of Grenada, remains on the run. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Winona Police.

Simpson already was on a probation for a high speed chase in March 2012.
