TUPELO, Miss. (Daily Journal) — Rainy weather will delay the reopening of the Crosstown intersection, a city spokesman said today.

Crews with the BNSF Railway began work Saturday to repair loose tracks at the intersection of Main and Gloster streets, and while that job has been completed, fresh asphalt must be put down at the intersection. According to Public Works Director Chuck Williams, it is too wet for the asphalt work to be completed today as originally planned.

Weather permitting, work will resume early Tuesday morning.
