WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Webster County offers residents a new way to improve their safety. But to take advantage, they must sign up.

Webster County and Eupora have joined the Code Red system to provide phone alerts for approaching severe weather to chemical spills or other accidents and emergencies.

Residents must enroll with their name, phone, address and other basic information.

The system can provide notifications to everyone enrolled or just those in specific locations, depending on the type of emergency. The service is free.

To enroll, visit www dot my webster county dot com or call the Webster County emergency management office.
