Video: West Point Based Contractor Completes Order, Ships Armored Vehicles To Afghanistan

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – West Point based military contractor Navistar Defense, LLC, has completed and shipped the first wave of a scheduled order of armored cabs to Afghanistan. The event was marked with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Navistar Defense manufacturing facility in West Point, Mississippi and attended by representatives of Navistar and the U.S. military. The $23 million project is apart of the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office for Combat Service Support for the Afghan National Security Forces and the vehicles being delivered will be in service to protect members of the Afghan National Police and the Afghan National Army. Since 2004, Navistar has provided nearly 9,000 Medium Tactical Vehicles to the Afghan National Army and Afghan National Police. There are another 14,000 Navistar Medium Tactical Vehicles in service with military units around the world. Deliveries of the vehicles will continue through July.
