Video: West Point Honors Teacher and Administrator of the Year

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — Some of the best of West Point were honored Monday.

The West Point Consolidated School District celebrated their District Administrator of the Year, Casey Glusenkamp, and District Teacher of the Year,Amanda Payne.

Each winner received a plaque at the ceremony during the board of trustees meeting.

“It’s so exciting you know, teaching we don’t necessary get a whole lot of recognition, so it feels very awesome, to be here and to know what my fellow colleagues kind of feel about me and to have the whole support of my west point family,” says Payne.

“It feels great to be chosen as administrator of the year, especially in West Point Consolidated School District, among so many great administrators, so many wonderful teachers and students. West Point is one of the best places to be, so I’m very honored,” says Glusenkamp.

Glusenkamp and Payne will go on to compete for State Administrator of the Year and State Teacher of the Year.
