West Point Man Arrested in Connection with Recent Home Invasion

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — A West Point man finds himself behind bars.

Starkville police arrested 28-year-old Depriest Gray in connection to a June 18 home invasion on Old West Point Rd.

According to a press release, the homeowner, whose name has not been released, allegedly entered his residence and discovered an unknown man in his home. The suspect, Gray, allegedly held the homeowner at gunpoint, “tied (him) up,” and made off with an undetermined amount of cash.

The homeowner received minor injuries during the incident.

The case was a cooperative effort between the Starkville Police Department, Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department and the West Point Miss. Department of Corrections.

Gray is currently detained at the Clay County Detention Center in West Point. Bond has been set at $25,000 per charge. The Mississippi Department of Corrections also has a hold on him.
