Winona Aldermen Look to Clean Up Railroad Crossings

WINONA, Miss. (WCBI) — Overgrown railroad crossings pose a hazard to motorists and Winona plans to do something about it.

Aldermen have ordered the C&G and Grenada railways to clean up every crossing in the city within 30 days, or the city will hire someone to do it and add the costs to the railroads’ tax bills.

Neither company attended Tuesday night’s meeting. The city must notify the railroads again and wait 30 days before taking bids for someone else to do the clean up.
