Video: Winston Nursing Home Officially Reopens

LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Winston Medical Center Nursing Home officially opens its doors.

A ribbon cutting was held Thursday morning to mark the occasion, along with an open house.

The nursing home is at capacity after 74 residents returned to the facility, after it opened in October. Renovations include a new cafeteria.

Administrators say today’s event is a way to thank the community.

“We have had a very devastating year in Winston County this year, and to be able to look at what’s going on around here to see the joy, the happiness. It’s just a sense of family, and it just shows how big our heart is around this facility,” said Winston Medical Center Nursing Home Administrator Lacey Vowell.

114 people lived at the nursing home before it was destroyed in the April 28th tornado.
