Woman Charged With DUI Death In Tupelo Crash

Tupelo, Mississippi (WCBI) – A Tupelo woman is charged in a fatal accident that police say involved alcohol.

In a press release, Tupelo police say Maria Garcia, 41, is charged with DUI death.

The crash happened Tuesday night on Joyner Avenue.

Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green says James Dalton Rice, 20, died after he was thrown from an SUV. He was a passenger in the vehicle.

Garcia was treated for minor injuries and then take to the Lee County jail. Her bond was set at $100,000.
