Video: Woman Charged With Neglect, Man With Officer Assault

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — A 34-year-old Mooreville woman is charged with child neglect after police say her children are found in a dirty hotel room with drug paraphernalia.
Tupelo police answered a disturbance call Wednesday at a North Gloster Street hotel and found Terra Gilmore, two men and two children under the age of 3 in a room.
Officers say they found crystal meth and a gun belonging to Gilmore.
She is charged with child neglect and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Her bond is set at $30,000.
In an unrelated case, a chase and assault land a Tupelo man in jail.
Tupelo police say 34-year-old Jansen C. Bell is charged with aggravated assault on a officer and felony fleeing following an incident Thursday.
Police say Bell fled from a routine traffic stop, raced through some residential areas and then fled on foot when his car was damaged. When confronted, Bell jumped an officer but was arrested after a brief struggle.
The officer suffered minor injuries.
Bell also was charged with second offense DUI. His bond is set at $75,000.
