TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Tupelo police are investigating a homicide at Motel 6 on McCullough Boulevard.

Tupelo Police Chief Bart Aguirre tells WCBI an unidentified woman was stabbed multiple times on Thursday night.

Officers were called to the motel for a domestic disturbance around 8:00P.M., and found the victim.

Police have named a suspect in the case. Billy Merle Copeland was seen leaving the scene. Copeland is described as a Black Male in his 50’s, wearing baggy blue jeans and a white t-shirt. He was also carrying a large dark colored duffle bag. He is from the Pontotoc area.
