CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A 65-year-old woman must repay more than $141,541.87 she stole from Social Security.

Minnie Carr Williams, who now lives in Georgia, also must serve six months on house arrest under federal supervision and three years on probation as part of a sentence handed down by Judge Sharion Aycock in U.S. District Court.

Williams pleaded guilty to concealing the death of Clay County resident Elizabeth Strong for 26 years between 1982 and 2008 to illegally collect Strong’s Social Security benefits.

Williams must stay away from drugs and can’t take on any debt without the court’s approval.
