Wreck Survivor Gives Thanks to Good Samaritans

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. – (WCBI) A Monroe County man involved in a one vehicle wreck during Sunday afternoon’s rainy highway conditions in Lowndes County is glad to be alive.

Tommy Lee Dendy of the Lackey Community wants to say “thank you” to the good samaritans who came to his rescue this weekend.  Dendy wrecked after his 1995 pickup truck apparently hydroplaned as he headed north on Highway 45, near the 45 Club.

After Dendy apparently lost control of his vehicle,  he did a 180 degree turn crossing the median. When his truck came to rest in the other lane, it was pointing south in the opposite direction. Two ladies gave Dendy shelter in their vehicle from the rain.

“Let me sit on their car and I don’t know ant names. I remember sounds of EMT real nice man. And the firemen and everybody. I just appreciate them helping me through a crisis,” said Dendy.

Dendy, who did not even know the names of those ladies who came to his rescue, was not wearing his seat belt when the accident occured.
