Video: Yokohama Officially Buys Land

WEST POINT, Miss. — As of Monday, 1,100 acres of the Prairie Belt Powersite was purchased. Of this property 570 acres has been deeded to Yokohama.

“There are many tasks that must be completed for the Yokohama project such as water, sewer, road, and rail improvements but the first step in this process was acquiring the site ,” said LINK CEO Joe Max Higgins Jr.

This land purchased was part of the responsibilities defined in the memorandum of understanding.

“I would like to thank the State of Mississippi and the Mississippi Development Authority for making this portion of the funding possible,” said Higgins.

Yokohama is still on schedule to break ground in the fall.
