OKTOC, Miss. (WCBI) – The oktoc country store is open for business on Saturday, and Saturday only.

Some of the best cooks in Oktibbeha County have homemade cakes, pies and breads for sale.

There’s a farmer’s market with goods from Oktoc farmers and gardeners.

You can even bid on the hand-stitched quilt.

Garden Club president Hellen Polk says there is something for all ages, “A fun time for people to come and fellowship, get some good food. we will have a bake table, face painting, hayrides for the children and we will also have our famous brunswick stew.”

The Oktoc brunswick stew is a tradition still stirred up in iron pots with boat paddles.

To get to Oktoc, head south on Oktoc Road from the MSU vet school until you reach the community club.
