Video: Arkansas Stuns No. 18 Ole Miss 53-52 In Overtime

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI Sports) – The Rebels’ chances of winning the SEC West took a hit Saturday.

Arkansas pulled off an upset in dramatic fashion as the Ole Miss football team lost a shootout 53-52 in overtime. It’s the second conference loss for the Rebels. They’re one of four SEC West teams with two conference losses as of the time of this post.

No. 18 Ole Miss (7-3, 4-2 SEC) went into the locker room tied at 17 with the Razorbacks (5-4, 3-2 SEC). Eight of the next ten drives combined for both teams resulted in touchdowns, with both teams punting once. The Rebels then blocked a 47-yard field goal attempt as time expired in regulation to force overtime with the game tied at 45.

Ole Miss scored first in overtime on an 8-yard run from Chad Kelly. Kelly went 24-of-34 passing for 368 yards, adding 110 yards on the ground. He scored six total touchdowns (three passing and three rushing).

Arkansas converted on fourth and 25 in its overtime possession, using a lateral from Hunter Henry to Alex Collins. Two plays later, Brandon Allen completed a 9-yard pass to Drew Morgan for a touchdown. The Razorbacks then converted a two-point conversion as Allen ran it in himself to finish the upset. Allen went 33-of-45 passing for 442 yards and six touchdowns.

Ole Miss will have a bye week before hosting LSU on Nov. 21. The game time has not yet been decided.
