Atlanta Braves to Play in Mississippi

The Atlanta Braves will play an exhibition game prior to the 2013 season at Trustmark Park.

The game is scheduled for March 30 and will pit the big-league Braves against a group of the organization’s best minor-league players. Trustmark Park is the home of the Double-A Mississippi Braves, which is part of Atlanta’s minor-league organization.

Individual tickets for the game will go on sale after the beginning of the year. Mississippi Braves season-ticket holders will have the first right to purchase tickets.

Mississippi Braves general manager Steve DeSalvo said in a statement that the game “is an incredible opportunity for many fans to see Braves talent, like Brian McCann, Jason Heyward and Freddie Freeman” who have passed through Mississippi before becoming stars at the big-league level.
