Bulldogs, Rebels ranked 3rd

Starkville and Oxford, MS (WCBI Sports) – After a weekend in which they both took down top-10 teams, Mississippi State and Ole Miss are tied for third in Sunday’s AP poll.

It’s the first time both teams have been ranked in the top 5 at the same time. Ole Miss is fourth and MSU is sixth in Sunday’s Coaches Poll.

It’s the Bulldogs highest national ranking ever, as State receives two first-places votes in the AP poll.

The Rebels have their highest ranking since 1970 and Ole Miss is 5-0 for the first time since 1962.

MSU hosts No. 2 Auburn Saturday while Ole Miss travels to No. 14 Texas A&M.
