Heritage Academy Gunning for State Title

The Heritage Academy Patriots have not won a State Championship since 1986 and have not been in the game since 2005. This Friday the Patriots will be back in play for a shot at a title and the players and coaches all understand what is at stake.

“We’ve been determined all year. It was big for us to get to the playoffs this year which we haven’t done. It’s huge.” said Senior RB Miller Puckett.

“Practice is more uptempo, everybody is focused on what they want to do this year” said Wide Receiver Hudson Bean.

First year Head Coach Barrett Donahoe is excited about the opportunity and ensures that a lack of preparation will not be the problem for the Patriots when they head down to Clinton.

“Getting another shot at Magnolia Heights is a huge motivational factor for us. We’ll be very prepared. They (MH) have one of the best running backs in the state. It will be a tremendous challenge but we’re looking forward to it” Donahoe said.

Heritage Acadmey lost to Magnolia Heights 14-13 back on September 28th. They will play for the Title Friday at 2pm at Mississippi College in Clinton.
