ICC Football Hires New Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach
FULTON, Miss. (WCBI/LetsGoICC.com) – Itawamba Community College head football coach Jon Williams has announced Nick Coleman as the new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Indians.
“Nick comes from a program that lead the country in total offense and many other offensive categories last year and over past few years,” said Williams.
Coleman spent the last three seasons at Faulkner University working as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. In his first year at Faulkner, Coleman played a key role in the development of two-time NAIA All-American quarterback Josh Hollingsworth, who led the nation in most all passing statistical categories.
“I’ve been all around the state of Mississippi and have seen different programs, but as soon as I found out that there was an opportunity here at ICC I knew I wanted to be a part of it,” commented Coleman. “I was very impressed with football aspect, the community aspect, the school aspect, and the overall aspect… everyone here are the type of people I enjoy.”
In 2010, he served as an offensive graduate assistant at Middle Tennessee State University. He was part of a staff that guided the Blue Raiders to back-to-back bowl games for the first time in the program’s history.
“We’re going to have an exciting style of offense,” commented Coleman. “It’s going to be something that will be intriguing to watch and something that will be fun for the boys. It’ll be a style that if you’re a fan or a spectator you’re going to enjoy what you see.”
The Decaturville, TN native was a quarterback for Middle Tennessee State from 2006-2009, and was a part of the Blue Raider team that set a Sun Belt Conference record for victories in a season with 10 and a win over Southern Miss in the 2009 New Orleans Bowl.
Coleman holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a master’s degree in Sports Management, both from Middle Tennessee State. He is married to the former Kelly Goethals of Jackson, TN, and they have a son Eli.
