MHSAA Reclassification Impacts Area Schools

CLINTON, Miss. (WCBI Sports) – The Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) has announced its high school reclassification for the next two years (2015-17).

Four area teams move classifications and many more are impacted by football and basketball region adjustments.

Louisville jumps from 3A to 4A and will be in the same region (4-4A) as Noxubee County.

New Site moves up from 2A to 3A and will join rival Booneville’s region (1-3A). Hatley also makes the jump to 3A.

Winona slides down from 3A to 2A. The Tigers are added to region 4-2A which now features six WCBI area schools: Bruce, Calhoun City, East Webster, Eupora, Okolona and Winona.

Also, Columbus joins Tupelo’s 6A region.
