Mississippi State Beats Central Arkansas 5-3

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI Sports) – The Mississippi State baseball team found itself down 2-1 in the fifth inning Friday. In their own regional, in front of a capacity crowd, the bulldogs delivered.

Ninth-ranked MSU was able to rally and close the door on Central Arkansas 5-3 in front of over 11,000 fans.

State left six runners stranded through the first three innings but scored a run in the fifth inning to tie the game at two and three runs in the sixth to take the lead for good.

Bulldogs’ starter Kendall Graveman gave up just one run through 6 1/3 innings and Jonathan Holder notched his 17th save of the season in relief.

Mississippi State moves to the winners bracket and advances to play South Alabama, which beat Mercer 9-4,  Saturday at 7 p.m. The Bulldogs will be the away team.
