Mooreville’s Timms, Rosa Fort’s Flemming Sign with ICC
FULTON, Miss. (WCBI/LetsGoICC.com) — Itawamba Community College men’s head basketball coach Grant Pate announced the signing of Mooreville High School standout Austin Timms and Rosa Fort star Kevis Flemmings on Wednesday.
“We are proud to add guys like Austin and Kevis to our program next season,” said Pate. “Both of these guys have a lot of potential to come to this level and really shine over the next two seasons.”
Timms, a 6’5 guard/forward, averaged 13.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game to help Coach Jeff Tally and the Troppers finish 27-5 last season
“It feels great and I’m so excited to be an Indian next season,” Timms said. “The coaches are great guys and I really like the atmosphere at ICC.” He averaged 14.2 points per game during his junior season in Mooreville.
“Austin plays good defense, has good size, handles the ball really well and can shoot the ball well,” said Coach Tally. “He brings a lot to the game that has really helped our program over the years. I think Austin is only got get stronger and that’s going to help his game get better and better.”
Flemming, a 6’0 guard, averaged 17 points, 6 assists and 6 steals for former Mississippi State football star turn Lions’ head coach McKinley Scott.
“I’m excited because [playing college basketball] is something I’ve always dreamed of,” Flemming said.
Kevis was named Division Co-MVP in his final season as he helped led the Lions to the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 4A North State semifinals. He earned team MVP and best defensive honors as a junior.
“He is going to be a good fit for the program,” said Coach Scott. “Overall he is a great player and I think he is going to do big things at Itawamba. He has an instinct that you can’t teach… he brings something to the table that most guys don’t have.”
