MSU CB Will Redmond Tears ACL, Is Likely Out For The Season

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI Sports) – Mississippi State cornerback Will Redmond is out for the season, the Clarion-Ledger reported Thursday, after tearing an ACL at practice Wednesday. It’s unlikely the MSU senior will return to the field this season.

Redmond is listed as one of the top 80 prospects for the 2016 NFL Draft according to CBS Sports, which has him as the ninth-best corner in the draft. He’s projected as a first-round draft pick.

Redmond leads State’s defense with two interceptions and leads the cornerbacks with 25 tackles. MSU will also be without starting safety Kendrick Market, who tore his ACL in the Oct. 3 game against Texas A&M.

The Bulldogs host Kentucky Saturday.
