Ole Miss Climbs To No. 3 In AP Poll

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI Sports) – Ole Miss made a dramatic ascent in the rankings Sunday following its 43-37 upset win at No. 2 Alabama.

The Rebels are tied for third with TCU, behind No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Michigan State. It matched the highest ranking for Ole Miss since it sat at No. 3 for three weeks last season. Prior to 2014, it was last as high as third in 1964.

The Rebels rose to No. 3 in the rankings on Oct. 5, 2014 after upsetting Alabama in Oxford.

Ole Miss climbed 12 spots to its No. 3 spot, receiving the second-most first place votes (11) behind Ohio State’s 42.

Alabama dropped to 12th, down ten spots from last week. Mississippi State is the first team left out, receiving 52 votes.
