Ole Miss Falls To 14th, MSU Drops Out Of AP Poll

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI Sports) – It was expected that the Ole Miss football team would fall from its No. 3 ranking after a 38-10 dismantling at the hands of Florida Saturday, the question was how far.

The Rebels (4-1, 2-1 SEC) were ranked 14th in Sunday’s AP poll, 11 spots lower than the previous week. The No. 3 ranking was tied with the team’s highest position since last season and, before that, since 1963. Florida jumped to No. 11 from No. 25 in the poll after its win.

Mississippi State (2-3, 1-2 SEC) dropped out of the top 25 after being ranked 21st heading into its 30-17 loss at No. 14 Texas A&M Saturday. The Aggies rose to 9th.

Alabama (4-1, 1-1 SEC) is up to 8th after its 38-10 demolition of then No. 8 Georgia. The Crimson Tide were ranked 13th a week ago.
