A native of Hurst, Texas, Henderson is one of 50 players nationally, and one of seven SEC players, recognized on the watch list for the top men’s college basketball player in the nation. The 50-player watch list was compiled by the Atlanta Tipoff Club’s Board of Selectors, which based its criteria on player performances from the previous year and expectations for the 2013-2014 college basketball season. The Naismith Men’s College Player of the Year presented by AT&T will be awarded during the Final Four.

Henderson, who earned SEC Newcomer of the Year and SEC Tournament MVP honors a year ago, broke the SEC record for made 3-pointers and the NCAA record for 3-pointers attempt last season, as he led the SEC in scoring and helped Ole Miss to the NCAA Tournament and the school’s second SEC Tournament title.
