AUBURN, Ala. (WCBI Sports) – Junior wide receiver Laquon Treadwell helped lead Ole Miss past Auburn Saturday, as the Rebels got revenge for the loss a year ago and stayed in the hunt for the SEC West title.

No. 19 Ole Miss (7-2, 4-1 SEC) won 27-19 on the plains. Treadwell had seven catches for 114 yards and the go-ahead touchdown after he suffered a gruesome, season-ending injury last season against the Tigers. Treadwell said earlier this week that Auburn “is going to feel my pain.”

Eupora native Derek Jones caught his first touchdown as a Rebel to give Ole Miss a 20-13 lead late in the third quarter. The Rebels trailed 10-3 in the second quarter when a 25-yard run from Akeem Judd tied the game at 10.

Ole Miss still controls its own destiny, meaning if the Rebels win their remaining games they will win the SEC West. The Rebels host Arkansas next Saturday, Nov. 7, at 2:30 p.m. The game will be televised on WCBI (CBS).
