Former Pontotoc Lady Warriors basketball stars Nikki McMillian and Anna Rosenbaum have signed to play for ICC beginning next year.

“Anytime you get players out of Coach Russell’s program here at Pontotoc you know you are getting quality athletes and quality kids,” said Gray. “We know these two girls are going to bring good minutes to us and be an integral part of our program.”

McMillian averaged 15.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game to earn her second 1-4A All-Division selection while being named to the Mississippi High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) 4A All-State Tournament team and 2013 Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal All-Area team.

“It feels great knowing that I’ll be playing at ICC especially after the season they had,” said McMillian. “I hope to be part of helping the team do the same thing next year.”

Rosenbaum averaged 7.1 points, 1.8 steals and 1.2 rebounds per game during her senior campaign.

“I’m excited because I’ve always wanted to play college ball,” Rosenbaum said. “I’ve always wanted play for ICC.”

McMillian and Rosenbaum helped lead the Lady Warriors to a 65-4 record, the 2012 MHSAA Class 4A State Championship while finishing runner-up in the 2013 Class 4A State Championship during their junior and senior seasons.

“I’m real proud of both of them,” said Pontotoc head coach Bill Russell. “They’ve had really good seasons these past two years and I really think ICC is getting two quality players.”

The Lady Indians won the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 Championship and advanced to the NJCAA D1 Women’s Basketball Tournament in Salina, Kansas in March.
