AUBURN, Ala. (WCBI Sports) – Mississippi State’s early offensive success proved to be enough as the Bulldogs’ defense led the way to a 17-9 win at Auburn Saturday.

MSU limited the Tigers to just six points in their four red zone trips, keeping them out of the end zone. The Bulldogs led 14-0 at halftime.

Mississippi State senior quarterback Dak Prescott was 29-of-41 for 270 yards and two touchdowns, adding 14 yards rushing. MSU out-gained Auburn 201 yards to 56 on the ground.

State plays at Texas A&M next Saturday.
