STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI/MSU Athletics) — Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen and senior quarterback Dak Prescott previewed the Bulldogs’ Southeastern Conference-opening showdown against No. 14/15 LSU at their weekly press conference on Tuesday.

Following the opening weekend slate of games and MSU’s 34-16 victory at Southern Miss, the Bulldogs (1-0) returned to the Associated Press Top 25 poll for the first time since finishing the 2014 campaign No. 11. State received 102 votes and is ranked No. 25. MSU is receiving votes and is the first team outside the Amway Coaches poll.

The Bulldogs have been ranked in 11 out of the past 12 weeks and for now 35 weeks under head coach Dan Mullen since 2010. A record crowd is expected in Davis Wade Stadium as MSU hosts the Tigers at 8:15 p.m. CT Saturday live on ESPN.
