This year, the Magnolia State stars believe it is their year to snap the skid.

For the first time in the game’s history, the state of Mississippi will host the event at M.M. Roberts Stadium on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi.

Players and coaches believe that’s the edge they need to get over the hump on the scoreboard and with the officials.

Last season, Mississippi lost on a controversial touchdown pass with no time remaining to Alabama. The two years prior, Mississippi lost by a total of nine points to their rivals from the Yellowhammer State.
