Starkville High School senior Patton Little made it official on Wednesday as he signed his national letter of intent to run track for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles following graduation.

Little, Mississippi’s Gatorade Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year, is one of the fastest distance runners in the state and will continue to run distance when he attends Southern Miss.

The Golden Eagles recently disbanded their cross country program but Starkville head track coach Steven Griffin, a Southern Miss alum, says he expects USM to bring back the CC team and he hopes Patton will run both cross country and track for the Golden Eagles.
